Terms and Conditions

Last updated: Sept. 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Cottage Ceramic website.

By placing an order through this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing your order.

1. About Cottage Ceramic

Cottage Ceramic is a trading name of Charlotte Coudreuse, a sole trader based in England.

For any questions regarding these Terms & Conditions or an order, please contact me using the email address above.

2. Products

Cottage Ceramic specialises in handmade ceramic pieces, including small-batch collections and bespoke work.

Each piece is handmade individually. As a result, slight variations in shape, size, colour, glaze, texture and finish may occur.

These variations are a natural characteristic of handmade ceramics and are not considered faults where the product remains as described.

Product photographs are provided as accurately as possible. However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen and device.

All product descriptions, dimensions and other information are provided as accurately as reasonably possible.

3. Product availability

All products are subject to availability.

If an item becomes unavailable after you have placed an order, I will contact you as soon as possible and offer an appropriate solution, which may include a full refund.

4. Prices

All prices displayed on the website are in British pounds sterling (GBP).

Prices are displayed inclusive of any applicable taxes.

Cottage Ceramic is currently not VAT registered.

Delivery charges are shown separately and will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

I reserve the right to change prices at any time. However, any changes will not affect an order that has already been accepted.

5. Placing an order

When placing an order, you are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

Before completing your purchase, you will have the opportunity to review and correct your order.

By clicking the relevant payment button, you confirm that you wish to place the order and agree to pay the total amount shown at checkout.

After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation by email.

Your order confirmation will include details of the products purchased, the total price and delivery information.

6. Acceptance of your order

Your order is an offer to purchase the products selected.

Your order will be accepted when I send you confirmation that your order has been accepted or when the products are dispatched, whichever occurs first.

If I am unable to accept your order, for example because an item is unavailable or there is an error in the listed price, I will contact you and refund any payment you have already made.

7. Payment

Payment can be made using the payment methods available at checkout.

Cottage Ceramic may accept payments through Wix Payments and PayPal.

Payment must be completed before your order is processed and dispatched.

Cottage Ceramic does not normally have access to or store your full payment card details. Payments are processed securely by the relevant payment provider.

8. Delivery

Delivery is available to the destinations listed on the website.

Orders are normally dispatched within 2–4 working days, unless otherwise stated on the product page.

Estimated delivery times are provided in our Shipping Policy.

Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed unless a specific guaranteed delivery service has been agreed.

For full information about delivery methods, costs and estimated delivery times, please see our Shipping Policy.

9. International orders

For orders shipped outside the UK, additional customs duties, import taxes or other charges may apply depending on the destination country.

Where applicable, these charges may be payable by the customer.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and complying with any import requirements applicable in their country.

10. Right to cancel

If you purchase a standard, non-personalised product online, you generally have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.

You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

There are exceptions to this right, including certain personalised or custom-made products.

For full information about cancellations, returns and refunds, please see our Returns & Refunds Policy.

11. Bespoke and personalised orders

Cottage Ceramic may occasionally offer bespoke or personalised pieces.

Where a product is genuinely made specifically to your requirements or personalised for you, the statutory right to cancel may not apply.

The applicable cancellation and return conditions will be explained to you before a bespoke order is confirmed.

This does not affect your statutory rights if the item is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not conform to the contract.

12. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Cottage Ceramic takes care to ensure that every item is properly made and securely packaged.

If you receive an item that is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact me as soon as possible at charlotte.coudreuse.92@gmail.com

Please include your order number and, where appropriate, photographs of the item and packaging.

Your statutory rights are not affected by these Terms & Conditions.

Under UK consumer law, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

13. Returns and refunds

Returns and refunds are handled in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights.

14. Handmade nature of the products

Cottage Ceramic products are handmade rather than mass-produced.

Small differences between individual pieces are therefore expected and form part of the character of handmade ceramics.

Minor variations in glaze colour, texture, shape or dimensions do not constitute a defect where the item remains within the description provided on the website.

15. Care of ceramics

Care instructions may be provided with your order or on the relevant product page.

Unless otherwise stated, customers should follow the care instructions provided with their purchase.

Cottage Ceramic cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by misuse, accidental damage or failure to follow reasonable care instructions.

This does not affect your statutory rights where a product is inherently faulty or does not conform to the contract.

16. Intellectual property

All content on this website, including photographs, product images, text, branding, logos and designs, belongs to Cottage Ceramic or is used with permission.

You may not reproduce, copy, modify or commercially use this content without prior written permission.

17. Website information

I make reasonable efforts to ensure that the information displayed on this website is accurate and up to date.

However, occasional errors or omissions may occur.

If an error affects an order you have placed, I will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and explain the available options.

18. Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

In particular, nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights or my responsibility for goods that are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the requirements of UK consumer law.

19. Events outside my control

I will not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond my reasonable control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, major postal disruptions or other events outside my reasonable control.

Where such an event affects your order, I will keep you informed and take reasonable steps to minimise the impact.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

20. Complaints

If you have a question, concern or complaint about an order, please contact:

Email: charlotte.coudreuse.92@gmail.com

I will always aim to resolve any issue fairly and as quickly as reasonably possible.

21. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you will also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply to you under the law applicable to your circumstances.

22. Changes to these Terms & Conditions

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version applicable to your order will be the version displayed on this website at the time you place your order.

The latest version will always be available on this page.
